Get to know the Kentucky football roster: No. 78 Cameron Jones

With the month of July halfway through, the opening of the Kentucky Wildcats football season gets closer and closer. We’re counting down the days until their first game, which is now 78 days away. Along the way, we’re getting to know the players on the team, and today, we’re taking a look at No. 78, Cameron Jones.

Jones is a 6’6″, 335 lb offensive lineman out of West Virginia. He wasn’t rated by 247Sports coming out of high school, but generated offers from Marshall, Akron, and James Madison, who he wound up committing to in the end.

A redshirt season was followed by a season where Jones only appeared in one game, so he entered the transfer portal and landed in Lexington with the Wildcats. He once again played in one game under coach Mark Stoops, but elected to stick around when Will Stein took over the program.

Heading into the 2026 season, Jones is once again expected to provide depth at the tackle position. However, he has gained experience, and if he has to play, is more equipped to be ready to step in. Teams can never have too many capable offensive linemen, and Jones has earned his spot on the depth chart.
