Georgia cornerback verbally commits to Michigan State during official visit

It didn’t even take a full official visit for Cordaro “Shyne” Parham to make up his mind. He’ll be a Spartan, in the class of 2027, the third commit for Michigan State in as many days.

Parham, a cornerback out of Jefferson, Ga., took the microphone and announced his verbal commitment Friday in front of Michigan State coach Pat Fitzgerald and tables full of fellow visitors. Parham posted a video of the commitment, and a celebration between himself and the Spartans’ coaches including cornerbacks coach Hank Poteat, to his X account Friday night.

Though he isn’t currently ranked by 247Sports, On3 lists him as a three-star. The 6-foot-2 Parham has received nine Division I offers including Michigan State, Kansas State and Toledo. He lists a 41.3 inch vertical on his X profile, though that is unverified. He also runs track.

Even with a new cornerbacks coach in Hank Poteat, it’s clear Georgia is still fertile for the Spartans’ recruiting efforts. Last cycle, Michigan State picked up defensive backs Jonathan Granby, T.J. Umenyiora and KJ Deriso out of the Peach State.

It’s also apparent early in June’s recruiting period that defense is a priority for Michigan State’s efforts, with seven of its commitments playing that side of the ball.
