FUT Minna Students Block Minna–Bida Road Over Rising Insecurity
Students of the Federal University of Technology Minna have staged a protest by blocking the Minna–Bida Road near the institution’s Gidan Kwano campus over recurring armed robbery attacks targeting students.
The protesters expressed concern over the worsening security situation around the campus, saying the persistent attacks have created fear and uncertainty among students, making it difficult for them to live and pursue their academic activities safely.
The students called on security agencies and relevant government authorities to urgently strengthen security measures in and around the university community to protect lives and property and prevent further attacks.
The protest caused significant disruption to traffic along the busy Minna–Bida Road, leaving many commuters stranded and resulting in delays as the demonstrators insisted on immediate government intervention to address the insecurity.
