FUMMSA notice to prospective undergraduate students on eligibility for 2026/2027 admissions
Candidates seeking admission into the Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Abeokuta (FUMMSA) for the 2026/2027 academic session must satisfy the following requirements:
Candidates must have scored 200 and above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
● Candidates must have selected FUMMSA as their first-choice institution.
● Candidates must be at least 16 years old on or before 30 September 2026.
● Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) credit passes in the relevant O’Level subjects, namely: Biology, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics, and Physics.
● Candidates seeking admission into Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Science, Pharmacy, Dental Surgery, Optometry, and Physiotherapy must obtain credit passes in all the five relevant O’Level subjects at one sitting.
● For all other programmes, O’Level results obtained in a maximum of two sittings are acceptable.
● Only results from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) will be accepted. Admission Requirements Candidates who satisfy the above eligibility criteria are qualified to:
● Apply and register for the FUMMSA Post-UTME (PUTME) Screening Exercise. The commencement date for registration and application will be announced shortly. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the University’s website for updates and important announcements.
● Pay the prescribed fees of ₦2,000 for the PUTME Screening Application and ₦4,000 for Portal Access, payable through Remita on the FUMMSA admission portal during the application process.
● The maximum obtainable point in the University’s Post-UTME Screening Exercise shall be 100 point, comprising: 50% of UTME score; and 50% of O’ Level results’ score.
● Candidates’ aggregate points will be determined by summing up the 50% UTME and 50% O’ Level results’ scores.
● Admission cut-off points for all programmes will be based on candidates’ aggregate scores.
● Please note that all information, transactions and payments will be on the University portal. There shouldn’t be payment to any private account.
The University has not appointed any agents hence anyone purporting to be representing the University is FRAUDULENT. Please be vigilant.
