Fubara signs N1.84trn Rivers 2026 budget into law

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has signed the state’s 2026 Appropriation Bill of N1.84 trillion into law.

Governor Fubara signed the bill on Thursday during a brief ceremony at the Executive Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt.

Speaking at the ceremony, the governor assured the people of Rivers State that his administration would continue to prioritise their welfare and implement programmes and projects aimed at improving their living conditions.

He also commended members of the Rivers State House of Assembly for the speedy passage of the appropriation bill and assured them of his administration’s continued cooperation in the interest of the state.

Earlier, the Leader of the House, Major Jack, urged the executive arm of government to ensure effective and prudent implementation of the budget for the overall benefit of Rivers State.

The passage of the 2026 Appropriation Bill followed the consideration of spending proposals submitted by ministries, departments and agencies of the state government.
