From the 'Amityville Horror' house to the former Versace mansion, 12 notorious homes that have gone up for sale

Believe it or not, it’s not uncommon for people to move into homes that were once crime scenes or owned by notorious criminals.

Some homes with criminal ties have been listed for sale more than once.

For example, the Los Angeles condo where Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were murdered in 1994 was listed twice after the crime.

Selling these properties, however, isn’t always easy.

The South Carolina estate where prosecutors say Alex Murdaugh murdered his wife, Maggie, and their youngest son, Paul, was sold after the crime, but its new owner has since struggled to resell it.

In February, the property was delisted after failing to attract a buyer at its $2.2 million asking price.

Some notorious properties, however, have changed hands without the same difficulty.

The Los Angeles home where Charles Manson’s followers murdered Leno and Rosemary LaBianca in 1969 sold for $1.875 million in 2021.
