From Brazil: Roma inquire about Botafogo’s Danilo

Roma is monitoring several potential transfer prospects.

The Giallorossi’s priority is to strengthen their attacking lineup, and the main candidates are Nicolò Tresoldi and Alejandro Garnacho.

A move to the winger position will also be needed, and Diego Moreira is highly sought after for this position.

Roma, however, are also keen to strengthen their second strings in other areas, and Danilo Santos is among the names being considered for midfield.

The 2001-born Brazilian is certainly familiar to European football fans for his time at Nottingham Forest, but in recent years he has played for Botafogo. Now, a return to Europe could be a real possibility for him: the Giallorossi face plenty of competition.

As reported by Brazilian portal UOL, in addition to Roma, Zenit, Newcastle, and Galatasaray have also put their eyes on Danilo Santos.

The Russians have taken concrete steps by initiating talks with Botafogo, the club that owns his contract, but the player’s priority is a return to Europe.

At the moment, the Giallorossi have only conducted exploratory inquiries to understand the terms of the deal. The midfielder took part in the World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, but Carlo Ancelotti only used him as a reserve. He played just 43 minutes in total.
