Lucas Digne believes the French players must “be on the same page” if they are to win the World Cup this summer.
France have reached the final in each of the last two World Cups, winning the competition in 2018 before losing to Argentina on penalties in 2022.
France will be making their 17th World Cup appearance – it also marks their eighth consecutive participation, the longest uninterrupted run in their history.
They have won the tournament twice, in 1998 and 2018 and are the last team to win the World Cup as hosts.
Didier Deschamps’ side have been given a 13% chance of winning the competition in North America by the Opta supercomputer, the second-highest behind European champions Spain at 16.1%.
France also boast plenty of attacking talent in their squad, with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Michael Olise and Desire Doue set for big roles.
Digne does see France as one of the favourites, but believes there is still work to do ahead of the tournament.
“Honestly, there are a lot of strong teams: Argentina, Spain, and so on. We have a very good team too,” Digne told RMC Sport.

“I think it will come down to the details, and then it’s up to us to show during the competition that we can be relied upon.
“When you start a competition, you want to win it, that’s for sure. With the team we have, we’re going to do everything we can to go as far as possible.
“It’s true we have a very good attack, everyone knows that. But there’s a difference between having a very good attack during a World Cup and having one on paper; it’s completely different.
“For the moment, everything is going well, and I hope everyone will be at 100% for the World Cup.
“We need to develop our understanding, work hard, and for everyone to be on the same page.”
France kick off their World Cup campaign against Senegal on June 16, before also facing Iraq and Norway in Group I.
They will also face Northern Ireland in their last warm-up match, having lost to Ivory Coast last time out.
