Four Longhorns earn baseball All-American honors

With the 2026 college baseball season in the books, the Texas Longhorns are shifting their focus to the 2027 campaign. While they have been busy reshaping their roster they have also made headlines as players have been recognized for their success this past season. That includes Sam Cozart, Aiden Robbins, Carson Tinney, and Dylan Volantis who were named All-American’s on Thursday.

Of the four Volantis and Cozart, were the only two to receive first-team honors. Tinney and Robbins earned third-team honors. Their recognition comes as no surprise given the numbers they put up.

During his second season as a Longhorn, Volantis took his game to another level. In 95 innings, the California native posted a 2.08 ERA while striking out a career-high 135 batters. He also held opponents to a .189 batting average and showed he could handle a larger workload. Whenever Voalntis was on the mound, Texas was hard to beat. As Volantis thrived out of the rotation, Cozart was a Swiss Army Knife. The North Carolina native posted a 1.72 ERA in 23 appearances. He also excelled in high-leverage situations with nine saves. In some of the Longhorns most important moments of the season, Cozart was the arm that was called upon.

At the plate, Robbins provided the Longhorns with a massive boost. He finished his first season in the Forty Acres with 24 home runs and 64 runs batted in. The Pennsylvania native also posted a .333 batting average and made the transition to the SEC seem easy. That helped raise his stock with the MLB Draft approaching.

Rounding out the list is Tinney who like Robbins, made the most of his only season as a Longhorn. In 61 games, the talented catcher drove in 58 runs while showing some power with 35 extra-base hits including 22 home runs. He was also recognized for his defense with a Rawlings Gold Glove award. 

Although the Longhorns were unable to win a national title, the play of Tinney, Robbins, Cozart, and Volantis was good enough to earn a spot alongside some of the best players in the nation.
