Former Wisconsin Badgers EDGE rusher Mason Reiger wasted little time making his presence felt with the Miami Dolphins.
Reiger recorded a sack late in Miami’s preseason opener against the Washington Commanders, providing a bright spot for a Dolphins defense that was otherwise struggling.
Miami ultimately fell 20-7, but Reigers performance was an encouraging development for a former Badger fighting to earn his place on an NFL roster.
The 6-foot-5, 251-pound Reiger signed with Miami as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft. Going undrafted was a surprise considering the production he had in his single season in Wisconsin, where he recorded five sacks and 33 tackles in 12 games.

Reiger also boosted his stock during the East-West Shrine Bowl, where he earned defensive MVP honors after an impressive week of practices and a three-sack performance in the game.
The Dolphins have already seen plenty of positive buzz about Reiger throughout the offseason, and this preseason sack gives him another opportunity to show that he belongs.
With Reiger trying to turn an undrafted opportunity into an NFL roster spot, every rep matters and he made sure one of his first preseason opportunities counted.
