Former UNC basketball star reveals his NBA comparison

The 2026 NBA Draft is just a few weeks away and the North Carolina Tar Heels could have two first-round picks on the first night of the draft.

North Carolina’s top prospect is Caleb Wilson, who spent one season with the program and is expected to go early in the first round. Most mock drafts have Wilson in the top four, likely going to the Chicago Bulls at No. 4 overall.

Wilson is one of the best players in this draft and has the potential to be a franchise player. As interviews and workouts go on, Wilson is also making the media rounds. He recently appeared as a guest on ESPN’s NBA Finals pregame show but before that, he did a segment with Kenny Beechum for “Enjoy Bball” where he compared himself to a former NBA Finals MVP.

“I would definitely say something like Kawhi [Leonard], honestly,” Wilson said. “I feel like I’m a two-way player. I can do it all. Whatever you need me to do, I can get it done.”

That’s an interesting comparison. He answered it as the player who fits his style with athleticism, pointing to the two-way player he can be.

We saw that at North Carolina several times as he made plays on both the offensive and defensive sides of the court.
