ISTANBUL (AP) — Former Serie A MVP Rafael Leão completed a 38 million euro ($44 million) transfer from AC Milan to Galatasaray on Sunday.
Galatasaray announced that it signed the Portugal winger to a four-year contract with a net salary of 10 million euros ($11.6 million) per season.
“Additionally, 20% of the profit from any future sale of the player will be paid to AC Milan,” Galatasaray said.
The 27-year-old Leão was the Italian league MVP when he helped Milan win Serie A in 2021-22 but has struggled with injuries and inconsistent form in recent years.
At the World Cup last month, Leão’s curling cross set up a decisive header for Gonçalo Ramos in stoppage time of a wild 2-1 win over Croatia that sent Portugal to the round of 16.
