Former Ohio State basketball guard Mathieu Grujicic transfers to Radford

After one year at Ohio State, Mathieu Grujicic has found a new home.

The 6-foot-7, 210-pound guard has transferred to Radford, he announced on social media. An accomplished scorer on the youth international level, Grujicic struggled to acclimate to the Division I game and then was slowed by injuries during his season with the Buckeyes.

He appeared in six contests at Ohio State, scoring six points and grabbing five rebounds in 33:29 of playing time. He appeared in five of the first six games of the year, then played one minute in a Dec. 23 win over Grambling State.

Grujicic was raised in Germany and played for the country’s youth basketball teams, where he played his way onto Ohio State’s radar during the spring of 2025. He was a late signee for OSU’s 2025-26 season and was unable to enroll in time to participate in summer practices with the team. That lost time proved significant as the season got underway.

“I’d say it’s been full of ups and downs,” he said March 18, one day before Ohio State’s season-ending loss to TCU in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Greenville, South Carolina. “Obviously, my health has been an issue during the season, and then also not being here this summer didn’t make the situation any easier. Overall, still a nice experience though. I’m happy I met a lot of new people, made a lot of new connections and got better.”

Radford went 16-16 overall last season and 9-7 in the Big South Conference.
