Former European high jump champ Przybylko of Germany ends career

Former European high jump champion Mateusz Przybylko of Germany has ended his career, his club Bayer Leverkusen said on Saturday.

The club said an official farewell was scheduled for later in the day at a jumping meet in the city of Essen.

Przybylko, 34, won the European title 2018 in Berlin with a personal best 2.35 metres. He won bronze the same year at the European indoor championships.

He was less successful in the following years where he also suffered several health setbacks.
