Forest Green Rovers sign free agent defender McIntyre
Forest Green Rovers have signed central defender Tom McIntyre on a short-term contract.
The 27-year-old former Scotland youth international has agreed a deal until next January.
He most-recently had a short spell at Scottish top-flight side Aberdeen, where he made five appearances late last season.
He came through the ranks at Reading, playing more than 100 games in the Championship and League One before joining Portsmouth in the summer of 2024.
McIntyre made 14 appearances for Pompey before joining Aberdeen at the end of this year’s winter transfer window having also had loan spells at Charlton Athletic and Bradford City.
“Having worked with Tom during my time at Reading, I know the qualities he can bring to the team with his extensive EFL experience, leadership qualities and undoubted ability,” Forest green director of football Mark Bowen told the club website.
