Florentino Pérez left disappointed by Real Madrid presidential election voting

Real Madrid chief Florentino Pérez has been left underwhelmed by the margin of victory achieved in his latest presidential triumph.

This comes ahead of the imminent announcement of the Spaniard being reelected at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Recent weeks have of course seen Pérez pitted against one chief rival in the race to be named Real Madrid president for the term ahead.

After Enrique Riquelme entered the scene with a head-turning pitch centering on big-money signings and more, Los Blancos’ long-time leader was forced to pull out all the stops in his bid to remain.

These efforts, as expected, have since proven sufficient, with Pérez primed to be officially reinstated to his post on Sunday evening.

As alluded to above, though, the 79-year-old is not entirely happy with the outcome of the election.

As per a report from journalist Abraham P. Romero, amongst a number of other sources in Spain’s capital, based on the current voting numbers, Pérez and his team have been left ‘concerned’.

The Spanish patron expected a much wider margin of victory over Enrique Riquelme, forcing Pérez to face up to dwindling backing in his role at the summit of the Real Madrid boardroom.
