Ciryl Gane spoiled Alex Pereira‘s bid at history Sunday when he claimed the interim heavyweight title in the UFC Freedom 250 co-main event.

Gane (14-2 MMA, 10-3 UFC) did not allow Pereira (13-4 MMA, 10-3 UFC) to become a three-division champion and set up a title unification rematch with Tom Aspinall courtesy of a second-round TKO triumph at the White House in Washington, D.C.
