FG unveils DNEMIS to unified education metrics

Furthermore, Ms Adebajo noted that the Public DNEMIS Portal will open up selected, non-sensitive layers of official national education statistics to the general public for the first time in Nigeria’s history.

This open-access portal allows international researchers, civil society organisations, development partners, and investigative journalists to extract credible data, driving institutional transparency and holding administrators accountable.

The Coordinator of NEDI, Mr Abubakar Isah, emphasised that the technical alignment across federal and state educational bodies represents a historic shift away from isolated, incompatible systems.

Backing the federal rollout, the Education Specialist for Planning, Monitoring, Data, and Research (PMDR) at UNICEF, Mr Saka Ibraheem, reaffirmed the global agency’s total strategic support for the initiative.

Developed in deep technical partnership with UNICEF and the University of Oslo, the DNEMIS infrastructure is tipped to fundamentally improve learning outcomes for millions of Nigerian children by ensuring every single kobo budgeted for education is driven by ironclad, verifiable evidence.
