When Clark was asked about the discrepancy, she offered a two-word assessment that immediately stood out: “Hm, interesting.”

The pointed response reflected the frustration surrounding Indiana’s elimination after a physical game in which several contact calls became major talking points.

The Indiana Fever put together an electrifying 2026 WNBA season. They finished with a strong 28-16 regular-season record and secured the No. 6 playoff seed. Clark’s elite playmaking powered Indiana, alongside standout contributions from Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston. The Fever cemented their place in history by setting a new WNBA single-season scoring record with a blistering 96.0 points per game. Sure, their postseason run came to an end in a hard-fought, first-round series loss to the Las Vegas Aces. Still, the campaign marked another major step forward in the franchise’s growth.

Indiana had forced Game 3 by defeating Las Vegas 99-89 in Game 2. That’s where Clark produced 27 points and 15 assists before the Aces responded behind Wilson’s 36-point performance in the finale.

For Clark and the Fever, the “Hm, interesting” remark will be remembered as one of the final moments of a season that ended far sooner than Indiana wanted, but not without leaving another significant mark on the franchise’s rise.
