What did Manuel Neuer just do? The legendary goalkeeper indirectly helped make Bundesliga history against FC Augsburg with a complete lapse in concentration.
Just seconds after kick-off, the 41-year-old intended to build play from the back. Intended to. But instead of clearing the ball out of the penalty area, Neuer first lost control of it, then chipped it into the back of Augsburg’s Robin Fellhauer.
The midfielder reacted instantly and scored the fastest goal in Bundesliga history after just eight seconds. Wow.
