The story of the fake San Francisco 49ers star, Daejon Love, is coming to Netflix.

The Untold series documentary will be titled “Wide Deceiver,” a pun on Love’s fake wide receiver position on the 49ers and the internet’s nickname for the fictitious athlete. The “Wide Deceiver “will provide firsthand accounts of the internet phenomenon from the women allegedly deceived in the scam.

Love is being accused of defrauding over a dozen women out of 1.3 million. He posed as not only a professional NFL player but as a Swiss real estate investor on dating apps and social media.

Where is Daejon Love now?

Prior to the start of the 2026 NFL season, Love, alongside Taylor Jame Chan, were arrested at the Boise airport and charged by criminal complaint in Portland, Oregon, on August 24, 2026, for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud. Chan acted as his accomplice in the scam, falsely posing as Love’s financial adviser to aid in the deception of the victims. His role was tied to building fake investment accounts to look as if Love was using the money to gain more wealth, ultimately validating the scheme.

The premise became a internet phenomenon with actual NFL players getting in on the moment. Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley posted several photos of himself on X, writing, “Believe it or not I’m in the NFL.”

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward also leaned in on joke creating an AI-generated image of him and Love in the Steelers locker room writing, “Bro… he was JUST at the facility.”

49ers wide receivers coach Leonard Hankerson, also jumped in on the viral moment who shared a AI-generated image of himself “coaching” Love at practice.

The Daejon Love documentary follows three other recent projects the streamer has released in their Untold series: University of Texas football legend Vince Young, 2024 Olympic breakdancer Rachael “Raygun” Gunn, and wrestling icon Mr. T.

At this time, there has not been a release date made for the “Wide Deceiver.”
