The New York Giants have extended quarterback Jameis Winston, per a report from Ari Meirov. The extension is reputedly for an additional two years and $13 million.
Winston, 32, signed a two-year, $8 million contract in 2025. At the time, he was in line to he the Giants’ starting quarterback, but fell to third on the depth chart after the Giants signed Russell Wilson and drafted Jaxson Dart. Winston and Russell ultimately swapped positions on the depth chart when Mike Kafka took over as interim head coach in the second half of the 2025 season.
Winston appeared in three games for the Giants, starting two. He threw for 567 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions against the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions — and also made a fantastically entertaining touchdown catch against the Lions.

Winston has become an important leader in the Giants locker room and a resource for Dart, as well as an entertaining figure.
The Giants clearly view Winston as an important piece for their immediate future. So while he almost certainly has a future in the media, he clearly wants to stick around the Giants for a while first.
