Ex-Reps aspirant, Khalifa Pasali vows Hisbah for Plateau

A former House of Representatives aspirant for Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency of Plateau State, Hon. Khalifa Pasali, has stated that if he had won his election into the Green Chamber, one of his major priorities would have been sponsoring the establishment of Hisbah Corp in the state to help combat high rising cases of drug abuse, indiscipline, corruption, prostitution and alcohol consumption.

Pasali, who bared his mind in an interview with select journalists in Jos on Wednesday, said he has been worried over the rise of societal menace in the state, especially in Jos North Local Government Area where there is a sizable number of Muslims.

He added that if he has been elected, one of his major priorities would have been sponsoring the establishment of Hisbah in the state to help tackle the menace.

According to Pasali, the large Muslim population in Plateau State justifies the need for such an institution.

“We have over three million Muslims in Plateau State, and not having a body like Hisbah is a disadvantage to the Muslim community.

“Such an organization would help promote moral values and contribute to the fight against social vices affecting our society,” he said.

Pasali further stressed that despite not being elected into office, he remains committed to pursuing initiatives that will benefit the people of Plateau State.

“I will continue to lobby for the establishment of Hisbah in Jos and will go to every extent possible to ensure Plateau gets what it deserves,” he added.
