'Every remaining (LIV Golf) tournament is on the fence,' per report

There are six-and-a-half weeks between now and LIV Golf&#league-update-for-6-6-26/">8217;s next event at JCB, but Front Office Sports reported Sunday the league’s Saudi funding, which was reported to be through the end of the season, may run dry sooner than that.

“Every remaining tournament is on the fence,” a source from a “high-ranking executive at one of LIV’s major-league level partners” told FOS. That uncertainty was also shared from numerous sources inside LIV Golf, per FOS.

“I truly don’t think anyone knows,” the source told FOS. “LIV Golf doesn’t know if or when the PIF will shut off the spigot.”

The reason for the big gap between LIV events comes after the league’s tournament in New Orleans was canceled in April, meaning a nearly two-month gap between tournaments.

In recent weeks, LIV has made numerous decisions trying to position itself for a future without Saudi funding, including looking for new partnerships. It’s exploring changing its format, lowering purse sizes and having fewer events in an effort to make the league more sustainable for the future.

The league has lost upwards of $6 billion since its inception, and earlier this year the Public Investment Fund announced it would pull funding from the league after this season. Since then, reports of LIV’s imminent demise have floated around, though the league is working to proceed forward this year as if business is normal while plotting a path ahead.

Yet if the FOS report is true, there’s a chance LIV may have played its last event.
