EPL: ‘Cole Palmer a bit old now’ – Eden Hazard advises Chelsea strikers

Former Chelsea attacker, Eden Hazard has made a confident assertion that the club’s front three, Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Morgan Rogers possess the capability to achieve the performance standards demonstrated by the Blues’ title-winning teams.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Hazard said he still watches Chelsea matches because he and his children support the Blues.

He added that the new season has given him fresh hope, as he wants to see his former side back at the top.

“Naturally, all my children are enthusiastic Chelsea supporters, therefore, we must watch whenever they play. They are performing admirably this year, with a new manager, a new team and new players. Consequently, we want to see Chelsea achieve top status once more,” he said.

When questioned about the attacking trio, Hazard encouraged them to enjoy their performances.

He maintained that they possess the technical proficiency to rival the 2014/15 and 2016/17 championship-winning squads.

“I like it. I like when they link together. Of course, I want them to score a lot of goals and often. Yeah, I think so. We need to give them time, but Rogers is new, Cole is a bit old now, but he still has the quality.

“Like I said before, I just want to see them having fun on the pitch, scoring goals, and as a Chelsea fan, we want them to win things,” he said.

On Chelsea’s prospects of securing the Premier League title this season, Hazard acknowledged that success would not be straightforward.

Nevertheless, he did not dismiss the possibility, given the quality of the squad and managerial leadership.

He remarked: “One cannot be certain. You understand, it is the Premier League, therefore, it presents considerable difficulty, but as I have just articulated, we want them at the pinnacle.

The Premier League is very difficult to win, but they have a capable manager, talented players and a competitive squad. Therefore, we shall see.”

Eden Hazard made 352 appearances for the Blues, scoring 110 goals, including a double in his final match for the club — the 2019 UEFA Europa League final against Arsenal.
