EPL: Carrick blames Man Utd players for 2-2 draw at Everton

Manchester United manager, Michael Carrick, has said his players’ poor decision making led to their 2-2 draw at Everton on Sunday.

The result means the Red Devils are yet to win any away Premier League game this season.

Carrick’s men looked poised to take all three points until Ainsley Maitland-Niles found the top corner from distance.

Bryan Mbeumo had given United the lead, before Tyrique George made it 1-1.

Benjamin Sesko’s header seemed to have won it until Maitland-Niles’ effort.

Carrick told NBC: “There was a lot of good things in the game for us. We played some really good football, were dangerous at times.

“For the most part we defended well as a team. The longer the game went on there were a few more balls into the box and a few decisions we made it more difficult for us when we should’ve seen it out really. We’re disappointed we didn’t come away with a win.”

When asked specifically what those mistakes were, Carrick replied: “I’ll keep them to myself a little bit but we should’ve seen the game out really so we’re disappointed with that.”
