Enes Kanter Freedom responds to WNBA ejection after courtside confrontation

Former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom wanted to cause a scene on Sunday night, so he pulled up to the WNBA showdown between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky at Wintrust Arena.

If his goal was to have a viral moment, he did just that, getting into a courtside argument with Sky star Natasha Cloud, before getting kicked out of his seats. The confrontation between Kanter Freedom and Cloud was shown during the broadcast on NBC and Peacock.

After the game, Kanter Freedom could be seen arguing with security before he was escorted out of the arena.

“I’m supporting women and this is the reason they are kicking me out,” he can be heard telling personnel. “This is unacceptable.

Before the game, it was clear that Kanter Freedom was at the arena to rile up the fans, wearing a “WOMAN” t-shirt and stopping by a rally outside of the arena in support of Fever star Sophie Cunningham.

After the game, Kanter Freedom did the predictable thing, and fired up his Twitter fingers before sending a response to his ejection.

Kanter Freedom took to social media to fire off his response to the scene he caused, writing: “I just got kicked out of a WNBA game for supporting WOMEN! Let that sink in, AMERICA! It’s always women hating on other women.”

The former NBA player, who averaged 3.7 points and 4.6 rebounds during his final season in the league, injected himself into the conversation about transgender athletes in women’s sports.

When announcing his stunt, Kanter Freedom said that he now “identifies as a woman” and plans to enter the 2027 WNBA Draft. Since then, he has been relentlessly trolling the league and its fans on social media, which led up to Sunday night’s disruption.

Now, we’ll have to see if the league takes any action against Kanter Freedom and whether he will be welcomed to any more games this season.
