Nebraska may have missed out on Ruston (LA) five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson when he announced his commitment to LSU over the Cornhuskers in May, but that hasn’t stopped their recruitment of the Louisiana two-sport star.
That commitment to Hudson despite his previous commitment has worked in Nebraska’s favor as Tim Verghese of Hurrdat Sports reported on Friday night, Oct. 2, that Hudson will take a surprise visit to Nebraska on Saturday for the Cornhuskers’ game against Maryland.
The trip back to Lincoln will be Hudson’s fifth time on campus and his second visit since the May commitment to LSU. He last visit came on an official on June 5.
Hudson is one of the top prospects in the 2027 cycle according to the latest USA TODAY Sports composite ranking. He comes in as the No. 19 overall player, the top tight end prospect and No. 3 player out of Louisiana for the cycle.
On top of one of the best football prospects in the country, he’s also regarded as one of the best basketball prospects in the country. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 17 overall player, the No. 3 power forward and top player out of Louisiana.
Whether it be at LSU or a potential flip to Nebraska, Hudson has stated that he plans on playing both football and basketball at the next level.
His trip to Nebraska comes a day after Ruston (4-1) cruised to a 29-2 home win over West Point (MS). Nebraska is also enjoying some early season success as the Cornhuskers are 4-0 and have won each of their first four games by double digits.
