Education Secretary Inspects Ikotun Schools, Reinforces Compliance With Education Standards

The Education Secretary of the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Dr. Aminat Olawunmi Ige, has reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to maintaining quality education standards during a routine inspection visit to Ategbo Primary School and Olukotun Primary School, both in Ikotun.

The working visit was aimed at assessing daily school operations, ensuring compliance with approved educational guidelines, and promoting effective school administration.

During the inspection, Dr. Ige examined administrative records and held discussions with the head teachers on strategies for sustaining high standards in school management. She stressed the importance of adopting positive disciplinary measures to promote a safe, respectful, and conducive learning environment for pupils.

The Education Secretary urged the leadership of both schools to continue upholding strong behavioural and operational standards, noting that discipline and effective administration are essential to pupils’ academic and personal development.

As part of the visit, Dr. Ige also conducted an assessment of the physical infrastructure in both schools to identify areas requiring improvement. She assured the management that the observations made during the inspection would guide the LGEA’s efforts to facilitate necessary structural interventions aimed at enhancing the safety and functionality of the learning environment.

She commended the teachers and school administrators for their dedication and commitment to delivering quality education, expressing confidence that their continued collaboration would ensure a successful conclusion to the academic term.

The visit forms part of the LGEA’s routine monitoring exercise designed to strengthen accountability, improve school performance, and ensure that public primary schools continue to provide quality education in line with established standards.
