As a player with experience of leading his team to a 2-0 NBA Finals comeback, Dwyane Wade8217;s take on the 2026 Finals is meaningful. He was the focal point of that Miami Heat team that beat the Dallas Mavericks in the 2006 Finals after going down 2-0.
Two decades later, Victor Wembanyama is the star for the San Antonio Spurs. They are currently down 2-0 against the New York Knicks, which is still a winnable series, especially if Wemby can perform to his potential.
Dwyane Wade sees Victor Wembanyama as the deciding factor in a 2-0 Spurs comeback
Everyone has been talking about Wembanyama because of his unmatched combination of skill and size. He stands at 7’5″, so he can always dominate both ends of the floor, but that has not been the case in this series.
The Knicks have the combination of size and hard work on their side, which has helped them blitz the Spurs and win the first two games. Now, as the star player for the Spurs, the pressure is on Wemby to mount the comeback.

Wade thinks Wembanyama must perform at his best and live up to his potential if they want any chance to come back. It will be challenging, but Wade sees Wembanyama’s limitless ceiling as a factor in this NBA Finals.
“What he’s done has been incredible; I need to see more. If you’re gonna win this championship. If you’re going to win four games, we’re gonna have to see Wemby go to the level that we think Wemby can go to. He’s shown us he can,” Wade said on Time Out with Dwyane Wade on the Wy Network.
As one of the few superstars who has led his team to win after going down 2-0 in the Finals, Wade knows what he is talking about. Now, it is up for Wemby to bounce back and lead his team because they will need him to be at the forefront.
