Ducks’ Iverson Hooks has 5th-highest grade among returning Big Ten WRs

It’s no secret that the Oregon Ducks have one of the deepest wide receiver rooms in the country in 2026, with stalwarts Evan Stewart, Dakorien Moore and Jeremiah McClellan presumably slotting in as the starters. Each have shown themselves to be productive when given the opportunity, with all three having some untapped potential that could lead to breakout campaigns. Behind them, speedster Gatlin Bair is back from his LDS mission and should serve a role.

But one guy who shouldn’t be forgotten about is Iverson Hooks, who has the fifth-highest grade among returning wide receivers in the Big Ten, according to PFF College. He recorded an 82.3 grade in 2025 at UAB, finishing behind only Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith (90.7), Indiana’s Charlie Becker (89.1), Iowa’s Evan James (85.3) and Rutgers’ KJ Duff (83.4).

Hooks’ grade certainly comes with a caveat, as his production was in the American Athletic Conference with the Blazers, a Group of Six team that finished with a 4-8 record. But Hooks was as impressive as it gets, catching 72 passes for 927 yards and seven touchdowns with a rotating cast of quarterbacks.

Having transferred to Oregon and set to join a loaded receiving core, it remains unknown what Hooks’ role will be this fall. It’s extremely unlikely that he reaches a similar grade as he did at UAB last season, but there’s a chance that he molds into one of the best WR4 options in all of college football considering the talent that’s above him.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder drew early comparisons to former Oregon wideout Tez Johnson when he transferred to the Ducks, and a role in the slot could be Hooks’ calling card. He also demonstrated an ability to beat press coverage despite his slight frame on the outside, though that came against AAC opponents and not the more physical, rangy Big Ten cover men.

Regardless of the conference switch, Hooks is a talented and accomplished FBS receiver who shouldn’t forgotten about in the loaded Oregon wide receiver room. During a long, grueling 12-game regular-season, every contributing player has a moment; look for Hooks to have multiple memorable moments for the Ducks this fall.
