Drake Maye makes ‘vow’ to Patriots fans after his three interceptions against Seahawks

It was a night to forget for Drake Maye as the New England Patriots suffered another defeat against the Seattle Seahawks.

Despite playing almost the entire game against Seattle’s QB2 Drew Lock, Maye was unable to find the answer against the Dark Side defence at Lumen Field.

The second half was nothing short of a disaster for Maye, with the Patriots quarterback throwing three interceptions.

Josh Jobe called game by snagging the third interception of the game with just a matter of seconds remaining on the clock.

This was far from the start to the season that Mike Vrabel and Maye would have been hoping for, but the 24-year-old QB has now vowed to improve ahead of Week Two.

Maye will be glad to see the back of the Seahawks, with his two games against Seattle providing him an incredibly difficult time.

However, there is still a long season ahead and Maye will have to improve given the difficulty of the Patriots’ schedule in comparison to last season.

Speaking to the media after the game, Maye vowed to return to the practice field and clean up his game ahead of next week’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“I think it just came down to decisions on my part, on my end, that cost us the game. I vow to be better and realise it’s a long season, but at the same time, you can’t have those. It was unacceptable, and I know that,” he said.

“I’m getting back to work, because that wasn’t how I play football and how I want to represent my game and the Patriots.”

Three interceptions in the fourth quarter for Maye certainly cost the Patriots the game, with the Seahawks able to put 10 points on the board in that time.

Following an impressive 2025 season, Maye has a lot to clean up following Wednesday’s game and the Super Bowl loss in February against the Seahawks.

Although the Seahawks defence put on a show in the second half, it must be remembered that Maye also escaped playing against star safety Nick Emmanwori.

Maye is going to produce a much tidier performance next week back in New England.
