Don’t cause another ethnic clash in Ibadan – Olubadan warns residents

It was learnt that the crisis erupted as a result of the alleged killing of a commercial motorcyclist believed to be a Yoruba man on Tuesday.

It was further learnt that Hausa and Yoruba youths confronted one another on Wednesday. The confrontation also led to the killing of another person, whose identity has not been revealed.

Reacting to the incident, Ladoja described it as unfortunate and sad.

In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Chief Adeola Oloko, Ladoja called on residents of the ancient city to continue living in peace.

In the statement made available to DAILY POST on Wednesday, Ladoja said that peaceful coexistence in the ancient city is paramount to him.

He said, “Regardless of where we come from, we should continue to see ourselves as brothers and sisters.

“Many Nigerians have come to see Ibadan as home, regardless of their religious, ethnic, and ideological persuasions.”
