DONE DEAL: Spurs announce Savinho signing

The saga of not one, but TWO summers is finally at an end. Savinho has officially joined Tottenham Hotspur!

The Brazilian winger, who will wear (which fits nicely with his move to N17), has transferred from Manchester City for a reported £75 million plus £10 million add-ons. It’s a hefty fee for a promising talent, but one that is supposedly offset by some transfer shenanigans around a double signing from City, with Omar Marmoush the second player reportedly joining for a lower fee to offset a sell-on clause inserted by Eintracht Frankfurt in his shift to City.

It’s a big signing for Spurs. The Lilywhites have been in desperate need of quality in attack, and have arguably over-invested in late-peak players this summer who are unlikely to develop further. Savinho, or Savio, is somebody who is still early in his career and will have the ability to grow and develop in the coming seasons… at least that’s the hope. And he’s already a pretty decent player!
