Donald Trump unveiled a new presidential jet gifted by Qatar. Here's how Air Force One has changed through the years.

Raymond Loewy and first lady Jacqueline Kennedy designed the plane’s blue-and-white exterior.

President George W. Bush flew 27000 one last time in August 2001 before it was retired to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

In Biden’s Air Force One, the conference room had the same star carpeting as the plane’s presidential office.

In May 2025, the Trump administration accepted a gifted Boeing 747-8 jet from Qatar to serve as a new Air Force One.

Trump appeared to still be holding out for his preferred Air Force One colors, with the model plane back on display in the Oval Office during his second term.

In June 2026, Trump unveiled the retrofitted and redecorated Boeing 747-8 gifted by Qatar with his long-awaited red, white, and navy livery.

After completing its commissioning flights, the former Qatari jet will serve as a Bridge Air Force One aircraft, filling in as the presidential plane until Boeing’s new VC-25B Air Force Ones are complete, according to the Air Force.

When Trump leaves office, the plane will become the property of the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation.

While revealing the aircraft at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on June 19, Trump called the new Air Force One “the world’s most luxurious plane” and said it is “representative of our country.”
