As Enes Kanter continues to spark controversy in the WNBA with his quest to enter the league as a ‘trans woman,’ he has the backing of one organisation with ties to Donald Trump.

Kanter has proclaimed that he identifies as a trans woman and will be making the jump to the WNBA through the 2027 Draft, as the scrutiny surrounding the league intensifies following Sophie Cunningham’s comments.

And with his latest publicity stunt – attending a WNBA game and getting into it with Natasha Cloud – Kanter’s ties to one Donald Trump-affiliated body have been exposed.

Enes Kanter collaborating with Donald Trump-endorsed AFPI

According to reporting from Kate Riga of Talking Points Memo, Enes Kanter is possibly working alongside the America First Policy Institute during his latest media quest surrounding the WNBA.

The AFPI was founded by Agriculture Secretary to the Trump Administration, Brooke Rollins, the Secretary of Education and former head of the Department of Small Business Administration, Linda McMahon, and Fox Business News analyst Larry Kudlow.

According to Riga, the AFPI’s social media handle on X shared footage of Kanter’s arrival at the Now Arena for the Chicago Sky vs. Indiana Fever game, along with other notable instances.

Ashley Hayek, a vice president at AFPI, also shared a picture of Kanter at the game. The social media team also posted the clip of Kanter stepping onto the court and getting ejected after his altercation with Natasha Cloud.

When asked to comment on the nature of a collaborative or business relationship with Kanter, no one from AFPI, including senior officials, offered a response to TPM.

However, the institution hasn’t exactly shied away from the idea of collaboration, selling orange sweatshirts and jumpers that read ‘Let Freedom (Kanter’s adopted affix) Play’ for $45.

This is the same jumper Kanter has been sporting in videos where he pitches to the WNBA to let him enter the 2027 Draft pool.
