The Miami Dolphins have had some injuries at linebacker recently, with Jordyn Brooks and Tyrel Dodson both not participating in recent practices and Trey Moore suffering an ankle injury early in Saturday’s game against the New York Giants.
With the state of the room, Miami is looking for depth options on the free agent market, and KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson reported that the Dolphins are hosting linebackers Kenneth Murray and Jaheim Thomas for workouts.
Murray, 27, played collegiately at Oklahoma from 2017-19, earning All-Big 12 honors twice. His performance with the Sooners led the Los Angeles Chargers to take him in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft.
After four years with the Chargers, Murray spent 2024 with the Tennessee Titans and spent last year with the Dallas Cowboys.
In 90 games between the three teams, he’s recorded 497 tackles, 17 quarterback hits, 14 passes defensed, 9.5 sacks, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
Thomas, 24, split his collegiate days between Cincinnati (2020-22), Arkansas (2023) and Wisconsin (2024) before going undrafted in 2025. He got a rookie minicamp invite from the Carolina Panthers but didn’t make the team.
Instead, he played for the Louisville Kings in the UFL, appearing in 12 games and recording 79 tackles, five passes defensed and a half-sack on his way to a UFL championship.
