Dolphins sign former Georgia Bulldogs DL

The Miami Dolphins have signed former Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Malik Herring in the aftermath of NFL roster cuts. Miami signed Herring just one day after the Tennessee Titans released him.

The Dolphins added Herring, 28, to improve their defensive depth. Miami opens the season on Sept. 13 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Miami added Herring along with numerous other players off waivers as part of a roster shuffle following roster cuts. Miami is viewed as one of the weaker teams in the NFL and gets an experienced veteran in Herring.

Herring played with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2022-2025. He appeared in 28 regular season games with Kansas City and four playoff games. Herring has won a pair of Super Bowls. He has posted 28 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks in his NFL career.

The 6-foot-3, 275-pound defenders is good against the run and played college football at Georgia from 2017-2020. Herring went undrafted, but for an NFL niche with the Chiefs.
