Dolphins getting injured rookie and veteran back at practice Monday

After the Miami Dolphins moved cornerbacks Darrell Baker Jr. and Storm Duck to the reserve/PUP list and placed defensive lineman Kenneth Grant, tight end Ben Sims and linebacker Trey Moore on injured reserve, the team had just two players on the active roster dealing with injuries.

Those two players were rookie tight end Will Kacmarek and linebacker/safety Ronnie Harrison Jr. However, Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley told the media on Monday that both are expected to practice this afternoon.

This is big news for Miami, as their tight end room was looking a little light with Greg Dulcich, Seydou Traore and Justin Joly as the only healthy guys at the position. Now, Kacmarek can serve as the team’s top blocking tight end in Week 1.

As for Harrison, he’s a versatile depth piece who can help on special teams and at two defensive positions. His presence also might allow rookie linebacker Kyle Louis to play safety in a thin room early on.
