The Naira continued its appreciation against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market, ending the week on a positive note.
A Central Bank of Nigeria data showed that the Naira strengthened to N1,357.61 per dollar on Friday, up from N1,357.65 exchanged on Thursday.
This means that, on a day-to-day basis, the Nigerian currency appreciated by N0.04 against the dollar on Friday.
DAILY POST reports that, at the official market, the Naira appreciated by N8.08 against the dollar.
Meanwhile, at the black market, the Naira remained flat on Friday at N1,425 per dollar, the same rate traded on Thursday.
This comes as the country’s external reserves rose further to $52.26 billion on Thursday, according to data from the apex bank.
Recall that the Naira recorded a single depreciation but more appreciations against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.
