Dodgers vs. Red Sox Lineup: Mookie Betts, Kyle Tucker Out

The Los Angeles Dodgers are hoping to get back to their winning ways on Saturday, August 1, against the Boston Red Sox after dropping a bullpen game.

Last night, the Dodgers hung around for a while, honestly a lot longer than expected.

Cole Irvin, an offseason signing who inked a camp invite deal and eventually joined on a minor league contract, did a great job of eating innings, pitching a total of six and protecting the bullpen from too much wear.

However, while he got off to a great start, the seventh inning went left very quickly, something that manager Dave Roberts elected not to stop to avoid using a key reliever.

In fact, when Irvin left, it was after 100 pitches, and Evan Phillips needed just two outs. The Dodgers should have a good amount of their bullpen available to go for the win today.

Against a left-handed pitcher in Peyton Tolle, the Dodgers are giving Kyle Tucker a rest in right field, moving Teoscar to right and Kike to left.

The Dodgers are going very righty heavy, trying to take advantage of the match-up.

Interestingly, Mookie Betts is out, though it is likely just rest since he plays shortstop every day at this point.

Tolle is a pitcher with electric stuff and an interesting combination of two different fastballs. He is still establishing himself, and the Dodgers will have the advantage in terms of pitching.

The one and only Yoshinobu Yamamoto takes the ball to pitch like an ace.

The Dodgers need length from him today, and he will be tasked with keeping his pitch count down, something he has been great at, and going at least six innings.

Yamamoto will have a tough task, with the Red Sox’s offense really surging and powering the team’s resurgence.

However, his command and pitch mix will give them fits, especially if he manages to locate as he does at his best.
