Dodgers Lost Game and Max Muncy vs. D-Backs in Double Blow

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost Max Muncy on Thursday, June 4, due to a collision, and they ended up in a nail-biter against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Dodgers got a great start by lefty Justin Wrobleski, who held the D-Backs to no runs over six innings, along with six hits and four strikeouts.

It was not enough in the end as the bullpen coughed up three runs, the last of which came on a walk-off home run off Tanner Scott, who came in to close the game.

The Dodgers’ offense failed to add runs throughout the game other than the fifth inning.

The offense came from the bottom/middle of the order, with Ryan Ward providing good at-bats, Santiago Espinal running the bases well, and Dalton Rushing scoring another run.

However, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Andrew Page failed to get on base, the top three in the order.

Kyle Hurt was the first pitcher to come in for Wrobleski, allowing a hit, but keeping things relatively clean. Then, Will Klein followed, giving up two hits and a walk.

One of those hits was a home run, and he only got one out, via strikeout, before leaving the game and Alex Vesia coming in.

The lefty did not look too sharp, and he gave up a hit with a runner in scoring position to tie the game up.

Then, Tanner Scott got punished by one of the best hitters in baseball, Ketel Marte.

Muncy hit a ground ball and ran down the first base line hard, trying to beat it out. As a result of his effort and run, first baseman Ildemaro Vargas and Muncy collided.

They were both down for a while, but both walked under their own power after an initial checkup.

Muncy was able to talk with reporters after the collision, seeming fine after the fact, with only a little cut on his nose.
