After Messi’s absence from Argentina’s friendly over the weekend at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, it looked like the answer would be a no. But the expectation was bucked Tuesday, June 9, when Messi entered in the 70th minute of Argentina’s eventual 3-0 win against Iceland.

Two minutes into Messi’s appearance, he scored on a penalty kick, doubling a 1-0 Argentina lead.

In the 85th minute, Messi set up what’d be Argentina’s final score, passing to Rodrigo De Paul in pursuit, who then flipped it to Thiago Almada within yards of Iceland’s goal for the contest’s final goal.
