Two minutes into Messi’s appearance, he scored on a penalty kick, doubling a 1-0 Argentina lead.

In the 85th minute, Messi set up what’d be Argentina’s final score, passing to Rodrigo De Paul in pursuit, who then flipped it to Thiago Almada within yards of Iceland’s goal for the contest’s final goal.
