Miles “Deuce” McBride has been in the league since 2021, and the past five years have been with the New York Knicks. He has worked hard, from being a second-round pick to becoming a regular rotation member on a championship-winning team. 

One of the best traits that McBride has is that he never complains. He always wants to be part of the Knicks, and he is willing to do everything he can to retain his spot and help the Knicks succeed. It is an admirable attitude that makes him a fan favorite as well.

Deuce McBride wants to stay with the Knicks for as long as he can

After Mitchell Robinson’s departure, McBride is now the longest-tenured Knicks player on the roster. That is a unique distinction because it shows that he has been there ever since they were struggling without Jalen Brunson as the star player.

Brunson only joined the Knicks in July 2022, but McBride was already there a year before. Of course, since Brunson joined, the Knicks’ fortunes have turned around. They became a decent team, and as time progressed, they became contenders.

Since he has been there for the longest time, McBride has had a strong relationship with both the city and the Knicks fans. With some rumors floating around that he could be a trade piece in the middle of the 2026-27 season, it seems that McBride is asserting his appreciation for the team.

“New York means a lot. It’s the only team I’ve known, playing in the NBA. It’s seen me grow up. It’s seen me develop. The community here has welcomed me in. I feel like from day one it’s just been a lot of love, and I couldn’t have been more appreciative of being here,” McBride said about his appreciation for New York and the Knicks.

If the Knicks do try to trade away McBride in the future, it will end a decent tenure with the team. He has been there through the ups and downs, and it will be the end of a wholesome story that saw a second-round pick work his way to becoming the primary backup to the Finals MVP.
