Despite seeing red: BVB star was allowed to play on

It took just 17 seconds for Daniel Schlager to pull out a red card in the match between Union Berlin and Borussia Dortmund. BVB star Nwaneri had just taken out Union’s Tom Rothe with a sliding tackle.

While the Union fans were already celebrating wildly, their joy was quickly cut short. Schlager had pulled out the red card by mistake and had actually only intended to book the Englishman. The referee then had to correct his mistake and showed the Dortmund player a yellow card.
