Denver Nuggets’ Jamal Murray Has His Sights Set on Winning Another Title Amid Trade Chatter

Jamal Murray‘s name has been floated in trade rumors after Denver Nuggets president Josh Kroenke said during the end-of-season press conference that everyone could be traded except Nikola Jokic.

When asked about it during the Denver Nuggets’ Media Day, Murray said he hasn’t paid attention to the rumors, as the 29-year-old is focused on winning another NBA championship this upcoming season.

“I mean, it’s a business at the end of the day. I’ve been blessed and grateful to be with the same team that drafted me for, I mean, it’s my 11th year… I know you guys do this a lot, but go in your notebooks and find out how many people have been with one team for 11 years. So, for me personally is I’m grateful just to be here and have the opportunity to win a championship,” Murray stated.

“And with my brothers, we’ve been ups and downs and all that stuff, and to have this type of relationship, even off the court, it means a lot,” he continued. “So yeah, people are going to say what they say. There’s always going to be trades. There’s always going to be something for people to talk about.”

The Denver Nuggets couldn’t make any splashy moves this offseason due to their complicated salary cap situation. However, Nikola Jokic isn’t the type to complain about it.

“The starting unit is the same, but there’s a bunch of new guys,” Jokic said via DNVR Sports. “I think they’re going to be good. It feels normal, feels like second nature. It feels like you know what we should be doing.”

“I think they didn’t even know, but I really pay attention even when they shoot with the coaches, even when they lift. I really pay attention to what they’re doing, how they’re reacting, how they’re talking to the coaches, players, trainers,” he added. “I think those things kind of tell you about them too.”
