Dearica Hamby of the Los Angeles Sparks was ejected in the fourth quarter of the Aug. 22 game against the Connecticut Sun.
Hamby swung her arm back and struck Raegan Beers in the head as both were battling for position under the basket with 8:39 left in regulation.
Hamby was assessed a flagrant 2 after review, which carries an automatic ejection. Beers, who received a loose ball foul in the sequence, was down on the court for a while before getting help back to the locker room.
Connecticut announced that Beers would not return to the game because of a jaw injury.
