Beşiktaş are preparing to submit a formal offer for FC Alverca midfielder Davy Gui, according to Fanatik, with the Turkish club working to get a proposal in front of Alverca “in the short term.”
The interest marks a surprise change of direction for a Beşiktaş side that had been more focused on domestic and Italian targets.
Reporter Cem Erol writes that the move is being driven by Beşiktaş’s push to reinforce midfield options under technical director Vincenzo Italiano, with the Istanbul club chasing a strong finish in the Süper Lig title race this season.
The report, which originates from Portuguese media before being picked up in Turkey, suggests Beşiktaş’s interest is fresh and specific to Gui rather than part of a wider defensive or midfield sweep, with no other names mentioned alongside his in the same reporting.
Gui, 20, joined Alverca as a free agent in July 2025 from Dijon’s third-tier French side after his contract there expired, and has since become a regular in Alverca’s midfield in Portugal’s top flight, making 29 appearances last season with one goal and one assist. Born in Péhé, Ivory Coast, he is known for his versatility and pace, capable of playing across multiple midfield roles, and his move to Alverca was seen at the time as a significant step up in competition level.
For Beşiktaş, adding a 20-year-old already tested in a competitive European top flight would give Italiano a low-cost, developmental option in central midfield. For Alverca, losing Gui just over a year after signing him for free would represent pure profit if a fee can be agreed, continuing a pattern of the Portuguese club developing and reselling young talent it picks up on frees.
Status: Talks have not yet formally begun. Beşiktaş are still preparing their offer, and Alverca have not yet responded publicly to the reported interest or indicated whether they would be willing to negotiate this window.
