Daniel Suarez Officially Signs Contract Extension With Spire Motorsports for 2027

Daniel Suarez isn’t going anywhere.

After weeks of questions about his NASCAR future, Spire Motorsports made it official Tuesday, Oct. 13, announcing that Suarez has signed a contract extension to remain with the organization for the 2027 Cup Series season.

The news comes just three days after Suarez told reporters at Charlotte Motor Speedway that negotiations were close. At the time, he wasn’t ready to say a deal was done.

Now, he doesn’t have to.

“You’ve been asking for this,” Spire wrote on social media. “We’ve signed @Daniel_SuarezG to an extension for the 2027 season.”

Rather than simply posting a contract announcement, Spire shared a video of Suarez reading messages from fans, including those who wanted to see him stay with the team.

For Suarez, the extension means another season behind the wheel of the No. 7 Chevrolet and an opportunity to build on a first year that has already delivered plenty to celebrate.

Daniel Suarez Earns Another Year With Spire Motorsports

Suarez arrived at Spire in 2026 after five seasons with Trackhouse Racing. Changing teams meant starting over with a new group of people, but it didn’t take long for the partnership to produce a major result.

In May, Suarez won the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, claiming one of NASCAR’s most coveted trophies and giving Spire a signature victory.

The win was the third of his Cup Series career, but his overall performance has been just as important.

Entering last weekend’s Charlotte race, Suarez had an average finish of 15.3, putting him on pace for the best season of his 10-year Cup career. His previous best was 16.2, set in 2017 with Joe Gibbs Racing.

For a driver who has spent much of his career navigating team changes, the chance to return to an organization where he’s already found success is significant.

Suarez’s NASCAR Future Settled Just Days After Charlotte Comments

The timing of Tuesday’s announcement is particularly interesting.

On Saturday, Suarez was asked directly about his future amid reports that he was expected to return to Spire.

“We’re still working on it. We’re pretty close, but we’re still working on that,” he said.

Less than 72 hours later, the team had its announcement ready.

The extension gives Spire continuity in its No. 7 program and allows Suarez to head into the final stretch of the 2026 season without questions about his next ride.

There are still four races remaining, and Suarez has made it clear that he wants to finish the year stronger than his recent results suggest.

But one question has finally been answered.

After a season that included a Coca-Cola 600 victory and some of the most consistent performances of his career, Suarez and Spire aren’t ready to part ways.
